Our client, a leading provider of facilities services in the UK, is seeking a People & Culture Manager to play a pivotal role in shaping a positive, high‑performing workplace by partnering closely with leaders and teams across the organisation.

Job Overview

Acting as a trusted advisor, the People & Culture Manager provides practical, expert guidance on people practices, supporting managers with employee relations, smaller‑scale restructures, and a wide range of People & Culture processes and policies to ensure decisions align with organisational values.

Working closely with Centres of Excellence, the role supports structured projects and change initiatives. This includes managing the annual performance cycle, delivering centrally led programmes, and translating strategic initiatives into actionable people solutions that enhance employee experience, performance, and organisational effectiveness.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide expert guidance to managers on People & Culture policies and procedures, coaching fair and consistent decision‑making that minimises organisational risk.
  • Lead employee relations case management across designated business areas, ensuring timely and professional resolution of issues.
  • Support and guide managers through grievance and disciplinary processes, ensuring integrity, fairness, and compliance with employment law and company policy.
  • Support restructuring initiatives, aligning people strategies with business needs while ensuring legal compliance.
  • Collaborate with Centres of Excellence to deliver TUPE activities and support smooth workforce transitions.
  • Build positive, professional relationships with union representatives and employee groups in partnership with the Employee Relations Centre of Excellence.
  • Drive adoption of People & Culture programmes, including performance, reward, and engagement initiatives aligned to business objectives.
  • Coach and support managers and employees to drive improved performance and professional development.

Person Specification

  • Demonstrable experience managing a broad range of People & Culture activities, including employee relations, change management, and policy implementation.
  • In‑depth knowledge of UK employment legislation.
  • Proven experience supporting organisational change, including restructures and TUPE transfers, with effective union engagement.
  • Strong capability to assess complex workplace issues and facilitate constructive dialogue to achieve fair, balanced outcomes.
  • Experience designing, implementing, and embedding People & Culture initiatives.
  • Ability to build effective relationships with managers, employees, and representative bodies.
  • Strong coaching and influencing skills.
  • Full UK driving licence, with flexibility to travel as required.

Additional Information

  • Location: London - covering education sites across Barnet, Ealing, Essex, Southwark, Slough and West Sussex
  • Travel: Flexible travel required, visiting schools within designated areas as needed
  • Working Pattern: Working from home when not travelling
  • Package: Car or car allowance provided (Band 4)
